how to feed the compost in 4 steps

1. get a bucket

how to get your bucket?

Get your bucket and poster at:

– the Studio of Klasse für Alle (Heiligenkreuzerhof A-1010 Vienna,
entrance at Schönlaterngasse 5 and then left, or Grashofgasse 3 and then right into the small courtyard / staircase 8 / ground floor)

– or join us for one of our compost care sessions

We suggest putting the compost bucket somewhere visible in the Kitchen. Hang the poster with the Does and Don’ts above or next to it, so people can clearly see what should go in! 

2. engage and collect

Engage your peers to put the compost in the compost bucket to feed our local Angewante compost-heap!

Once the bucket is filled bring the compost bucket to the compost heap.

Make sure to empty the bucket around twice a week and watch out for mold! (we don’t want these kinds of fungus in our kitchen!) 

3. take it to the compost garden

Take your bucket from the kitchen and walk through the main-entrance of OKP, straight towards the doors to the courtyard. Once there, keep going straight forward until you see the compost towards your right! 

Now you can empty the bucket and feed the compost-worms!

Pro-tip: to help avoid flies, cover the compost with grass or leaves.

4. rinse it, put it back, repeat

To rinse out the bucket, you can use the faucet, that is located across the courtyard.

You can splash the water (used for rinsing the bucket) onto the plants around the compost heap! 

Now put it back in your shared kitchen, and start the process again!
